Dr Laurie Denyer-Willis

Dr Laurie Denyer-WillisDr Laurie Denyer-Willis is a Post-Doctoral Fellow in Medical Anthropology at the Centre for Gender Studies. Laurie’s research employs multimodal ethnography to explore the relationships between the sensory life of bodies, suburban environments, religion, and global health. Her book project, The Salvific Sensorium: Pentecostal Life in Rio de Janeiro’s Suburbs, has been selected as part of the Atelier Series at the University of California Press. Laurie competed her PhD at McGill in 2018, and her MSc at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Urban Studies and Planning.
