UCCGS PhD Student Reetika Subramanian: Winner of the Bill Gates Sr. Prize

Congratulations to UCCGS PhD in Multi-disciplinary Gender Studies student Reetika Subramanian, who was one of three winners of the Bill Gates Sr. Prize from the Gates Foundation. Reetika's research is on the impact of the climate crisis on gender violence in India, and she has also set up the Climate Brides project to promote accessible knowledge and understanding of the impact of climate on early and forced marriage in South Asia. Reetika has co-created a comic book, Raindrop in the Drought on the life and work of Godavari Dange, a farmer and feminist leader in the drought-affected Marathwada region.
